Ljubljana, 10 October (STA) - Slovenia's exports continued to grow at a rapid pace in August, rising 9.2% year-on-year. In the first eight months of the year exports were up by over 11%, show the latest data by the Statistics Office.
Imports were up 4.1% at the monthly and 10.9% at the annual level, with the export-import coverage at 101.9%.
In total figures, exports amounted to EUR 2.23bn in August and imports stood at 2.91bn.
There was no major change in the structure of Slovenia's export destinations, as EU countries continue to account for roughly three-quarters of all exports and almost 80% of all imports.
But non-EU countries are where Slovenia generates its trade surplus; while the total surplus in August was just over EUR 41m, the surplus with non-EU countries exceeded EUR 80m.« Back
