The amount of investment planned by Telekom Slovenije next year is EUR 158m and not EUR 158 as incorrectly stated in the third paragraph of the copy. A corrected version of the report follows below.
Ljubljana, 06 December (STA) - Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia's incumbent telco, plans a group net profit of EUR 40.9m for 2018, slightly down from this year's plan of EUR 41.3m, Telekom announced on Wednesday.
The group is to generate EUR 755.3m in revenue in 2018, which compares to the EUR 717.8m projected for this year.
Telekom plans to earmark EUR 158m for investment next year, according to the group strategy, which was released on the website of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the group will focus in 2019-2022 on key strategic guidelines, including keeping its market share in mobile services and strengthening position in fixed services.
It will also focus on new revenue sources, maintaining quality network, consolidation in individual markets and streamlining processes and IT infrastructure. Other guidelines include staffing reshuffle, financial stability and social responsibility.
The company expects a drop in revenue from the basic telecommunication services on the Slovenian market, which it believes to be developed and saturated.
Maintaining the highest market share in Slovenia in all operating segments, Telekom cannot follow other telcos in aggressive pricing policies "due to the limitations imposed by the regulatory body and the principles of good management".
The Ljubljana-based group seeks to counter these policies with various measures, including the expansion of the fibre optic broadband network.
Through subsidiaries, the group is present in Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia.« Back
