The latest edition of the Michelin guide for the first also includes the best Slovenian restaurants.
In June the famous French restaurant guide announced the first Slovenian recipients of Michelin stars. Hiša Franko in Kobarid received two stars as the only restaurant in Slovenia. Its chef Ana Roš has already received numerous international awards: in 2017 she was named the World’s Best female Chef. Five restaurants received one Michelin star: Atelje in Ljubljana, Dam in Nova Gorica, Hiša Denk in Zgornja Kungota, Pri Lojzetu in Vipava, and Vila Podvin in Radovljica. A further 37 Slovenian restaurants received the Michelin Plate designation. Slovenia was recently a recipient of the European Region of Gastronomy 2021 award. The inclusion of Slovenian restaurants in the world’s top guide further affirms the country’s reputation as one of the leading food destinations.
