Ljubljana, 15 July (STA) - The value of construction works in Slovenia was down 2.8% in May over April and 13.7% year-on-year, show data released by the Statistics Office on Wednesday. This was the third consecutive month of decline, the April drop over the preceding month being 7.5% and the March decrease 10.4%.
In May the value of construction executed for buildings decreased by 0.3%; for residential buildings it went up by 3.6%, while for non-residential buildings it was down by 1.3%. The value of construction for civil engineering decreased by 4.5%.
The third consecutive decreased was also recorded at the annual level - in March it was 2.1% and in April 6.9%. For buildings it went down by 17.4% in May and in civil engineering projects by 11.7%.
In the first five months of the year saw a total decrease of 3.2% compared to the same period last year. For buildings the drop was 7.3% and in civil engineering projects 1.1%
