Ljubljana, 08 October (STA) - The volume of construction work carried out in Slovenia increased significantly in 2020, as work on civil engineering structures increased by 3.7%, while work on buildings was up by 71.3%. The total value of construction work was EUR 3.5 billion, an increase of 36.7% on the year before.
Construction work on buildings was worth EUR 2.1 billion, while the value of work on civil engineering structures stood at EUR 1.4 billion, the Statistics Office said on Friday.
Non-residential buildings accounted for more than half of the total, EUR 1.1 billion, and work on residential buildings was valued at EUR 1 billion.
That was followed by transport infrastructure at EUR 833 million, and pipelines, communication networks and electricity lines, the total costs of which amounted to EUR 421 million last year.
An additional EUR 89 million worth of work was carried out on other civil engineering projects, and EUR 47 million on industrial buildings.
