Ljubljana, 17 August (STA) - The registered unemployment rate in Slovenia remained flat at 10.5% in June compared to a month earlier, the Statistics Office said on Tuesday. The number of active people increased by around 460.
There was a total of 98,187 unemployed persons in June, which is a drop of 214 compared to a month earlier. The unemployment rate among men was 9.8%, whereas it was 11.3% among women.
Compared to the same month last year, the unemployment rate was 1.4 percentage points higher. In June 2009, there were 86,481 people out of a job in Slovenia.
The total active population in June of this year was 839,333, of those 751,280 with a job and 88,053 self-employed.
Unemployment rates in individual regions remained little changed in June, with the central Orednjeslovensko region seeing the biggest rise at 0.2 percentage points.
