Slovenia's Exports Grow at Double-Digit Rates

Ljubljana, 09 November (STA) - Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 13.44bn in the first nine months of 2010, which is 13.6% more than in the same period last year, while imports rose 12.9% to EUR 14.16bn. The export-import ratio was 94.9%, the Statistics Office said on Tuesday.

A similar trend was recorded in September, when exports stood at EUR 1.71bn, up 15.9% year-on-year, while imports increased 15.5% to EUR 1.76bn.

Trade deficit in September amounted to EUR 715.3m, and the export-import ratio was 97.1%.

Slovenia exported in September EUR 1.24bn worth of goods to EU countries, which is 72.6% of the total exports in this month.

Goods imported from the EU was meanwhile worth EUR 1.39bn, or 78.8% of all imported goods.

Slovenia exported EUR 468.8m worth of goods to non-EU markets, and imported EUR 374m worth of goods from those markets in September.
