Ljubljana, 06 October (STA) - A delegation of 19 representatives of Slovenian businesses and institutions has recently visited Turkey to attend a business conference, visit several Turkish companies and hold bilateral talks with their Turkish counterparts.
The visit was organised by the SPIRIT agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship and investment and the Slovenia-Turkey business club SloTur.
In a press release, SPIRIT said the delegation included representatives of the fence maker Ograje Kočevar, consultancies CMS-mednarodno pravno svetovalno podjetje and NETS, haulage company Transport in TGM Reja, realtors ABC Nepremičnine and Ljubljana Nepremičnine and the Maribor Faculty of Law.
The business conference heard SPIRIT and SloTur directors note the importance of strategic partnership between the two countries and called for enhancing cooperation.
Almost 50 Turkish partners and investors were presented the Slovenian business and investment environment, legal aspects of incorporating a company in Slovenia and an EU programme to provide legal safety to potential foreign investors, which is being implemented by the Maribor Faculty of Law with partners from several European countries with the support of EU funds.
The conference was also attended by honorary consults of Slovenia to Turkey Mizyal Karabiber and Mazhar Izmiroglu.
In B2B meetings Turkish companies expressed interest in various forms of cooperation with Slovenian companies and some expressed interest in investing in Slovenia.
SPIRIT and SloTur officials also met the leadership of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, which has more than 450,000 members. Both sides expressed interest to boost cooperation in various fields, the release from SPIRIT said.
