Ljubljana, 24 November (STA) - The Slovenian arm of the German DB Schenker logistics group generated EUR 45.75m in sales revenue last year, which is on a par with the 2017 figure. Net profit decreased by 18% to EUR 2.79 million, shows the company's business report available on the website of the Agency for Public Legal Records (AJPES).
Schenker Mednarodna Špedicija generates most of its revenue from road transport, the share of which increased by 3.1 percentage points to 48.6% after a decline the year before.
The share generated by storage services also increased, by 4.6 percentage points to 23.65%, while less revenue was generated by maritime, rail and air transport.
The company's CEO Valerija Špacapan Friš wrote that all of the business goals set had been met, including upgraded specialisation in the pharma and auto industries and an expansion of services with added value.
Schenker spent slightly over EUR 1 million on investment last year. The focus this year will be on digitalisation, while a carbon dioxide emission reduction project for the supply chain is also being executed.
The Ljubljana-based company ended 2018 with 145 employees, five more than it had at the start of the year.
