Insurer Triglav proposes EUR 1.7 dividend

Ljubljana, 30 March (STA) - Insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav will propose a dividend of EUR 1.7 gross per share at the annual general meeting planned for 25 May, for a total payout of EUR 38.65 million or just over half of last year's consolidated profit.

The payout will be carried out provided the regulator, the Agency for Insurance Supervision, does not oppose the payout before the AGM is convened, on 22 April, the company said Tuesday.

The regulator has told insurers to retain profit until September due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, unless they demonstrate sufficient solvency, liquidity and profitability with due adherence to prudential principles.

CEO Andrej Slapar was quoted as saying that the proposed dividend policy was attractive to shareholders and sustainable.
