Ljubljana, 19 March (STA) - Factory gate prices in Slovenia were up 0.4% in February compared to the moth before and down 1.2% in year-on-year comparison, the Statistics Office said on Friday. In the first two months of 2010, the prices decreased by 0.5%.
Year-on-year, prices in February dropped only in water supply (by 1.8%), while they increased in all other activities, most noticeable in mining (by 1.5%) and in manufacturing and electricity supply (by 0.5%).
In monthly comparison however, prices dropped both in water supply (by 1.8%) and electricity supply (by 0.3%). In mining, they were up by 1.3%, while in processing industry they increased by 0.4%.
February saw the biggest drop in the prices of fuels (-0.3%) compared to the month before. Meanwhile, the prices of raw materials increased by 0.8%, of non-durable consumer goods by 0.4%, of consumer goods by 0.3% and of durable consumer goods by 0.1%.
Compared to the same month last year, prices of fuels were down by 0.1%, while raw materials were 0.7% dearer. Also up were the prices of non-durable consumer goods (by 0.5%), consumer goods (0.4%), capital goods (0.2%) and durable consumer goods (0.2%).
Prices of exported industrial products increased by 0.4% in February compared to January and factory gate prices of goods sold on the domestic market were up by 0.3%.
In the last 12 months, prices of exported goods dropped by 2.5%, while industrial products sold at home were 0.1% dearer.
