Ljubljana, 05 January (STA) - Electricity consumption in the first eleven months of 2009 dropped by 12% year-on-year. While electricity production remained unchanged, consumption increased by 3% from October to November, the Statistics Office said on Tuesday.
Electricity production in hydroelectric plants and the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant decreased by 2% in November over October. Meanwhile, production increased in thermal power plants by 3%, raising the consumption of fuels by 4%.
Total energy production in November amounted to 1,391 gigawatt hours (GWh). The country imported 615 GWh and exported 825 GWh of electricity.
