Ljubljana, 15 January (STA) - The average pay in November totalled just under EUR 1,045 net, up 4.5% over the month before due to end-year payments such as Christmas bonuses and 13th salaries, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
The spike is typical of November, as evident from the year-on-year comparison showing wages inching up just 1%.
In real terms the average wage for November rose 4.6% on the previous month and 0.3% year-on-year.
Gross wages rose 6% over October to EUR 1,617.2. This is just 0.3% more than in November 2012.
The private sector reaped the bulk of the benefits of bonuses, as wages rose 6.8% on average at the monthly level.
In the public sector the increase was just 1.1%.
