Ljubljana, 24 June (STA) - Business sentiment in Slovenia has grown for the second consecutive time in June, the data released by the Statistics Office on Wednesday show. The index increased by 8.7 percentage points (pp) to -24.0pp between May and June. Nevertheless, it was still 29.3pp lower than in June 2019 and 24.1pp lower than a years long average.
According to the Statistics Office, all indices contributed to the increase: confidence in the services sector dragged it up by 3.1pp, processing industry by 2.3pp, consumer confidence by 1.7pp, confidence in retail by 0.9pp and construction by 0.6pp.
But compared to June 2019, all confidence indices contributed to the drop: the services industry by 14.3pp, the processing industries by 6.7pp, consumers by 5.9pp, construction by 1.3pp and retail by 1.1%.
The indices, individually, all dropped in annual comparison but grew compared to May. Confidence in retail grew the most over May, gaining 18pp, while the services sector dropped the most over last year, as much as 48pp.
