  • Slovenia's GDP growth slows marginally to 2.3% in Q3

    Ljubljana, 29 November (STA) - Slovenia's economy expanded by 2.3% at the annual level in the third quarter of the year or a seasonally adjusted 2%, the slowest rate in three years, as growth continued to decelerate in line with predictions. Exports were sluggish, but their lacklustre contribution to growth was offset by robust domestic spending and investments.

  • Slovenian textile company Filc gets German owner

    Škofja Loka, 28 November (STA) - Germany's multinational Freudenberg has signed a contract to take over Filc, a Škofja Loka-based manufacturer of needlepunch nonwoven textiles and laminated materials for the car and construction industries, the Slovenian company announced on Thursday, but did not disclose the value of the deal.

  • Hidria to hire more workers, expand production

    Jesenice, 25 November (STA) - Hidria, which mostly manufactures hi-tech products for the car industry, has closed several multi-million contracts for the 2021-2030 period. In total, they are worth more than EUR 300 million. In order to deliver its innovative solutions to customers, the company plans to hire more than 150 people and expand its production capacities.

  • Profit for Slovenian arm of Schenker down in 2018, revenue level

    Ljubljana, 24 November (STA) - The Slovenian arm of the German DB Schenker logistics group generated EUR 45.75m in sales revenue last year, which is on a par with the 2017 figure. Net profit decreased by 18% to EUR 2.79 million, shows the company's business report available on the website of the Agency for Public Legal Records (AJPES).

    Ljubljana, 22 November (STA) - The insurance group Sava reported on Friday a net profit of EUR 37.7 million for the first nine months of the year, a 29.3% year-on-year increase driven by high premium growth and improved cost-efficiency. Operating revenue was up 8.7% to EUR 427.5 million.
