  • Labour costs per employee up by 5% last year

    Ljubljana, 21 October (STA) - Average monthly costs per person in paid employment in Slovenia increased by 5% last year to EUR 2,498.73, data from the Statistics Office shows. Wages accounted for 86.4% of the labour costs. According to Eurostat, Slovenia's labour costs were below the EU average.

  • Novartis to fill Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Ljubljana

    Ljubljana, 21 October (STA) - Novartis has signed an initial agreement to use its manufacturing facility in Ljubljana to fill the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against Covid-19. The Novartis Technical Operations site in Ljubljana will fill at least 24 million doses in its sterile manufacturing facilities in 2022, the Swiss pharma company announced on Thursday.

    Ljubljana, 20 October (STA) - A third of Slovenia's electricity output was generated with renewables last year, as renewable electricity generation rose in both the EU and Slovenia, the Statistics Office (SURS) said on Wednesday prior to the 25-29 October EU Sustainable Energy Week.

  • Unior to launch new production line with SID bank loan

    Zreče, 20 October (STA) - Unior, a Zreče-based group specialising in forged steel and tools, has signed a contract with the SID development and export bank on a EUR 5.7 million loan for the financing of a new line of aluminium products. The 12-year loan involves a six-year moratorium on principal repayment.

  • Petrol ranks 9th by total revenue in SE Europe

    Ljubljana, 18 October (STA) - Slovenian energy company Petrol ranked ninth by total revenue for 2020 in the SEE TOP 100 ranking of the largest companies in SE Europe, published by business news portal SeeNews. Romanian company Automobile Dacia, a unit of French Renault, was ranked first with EUR 3.8 billion in revenue.

  • REM opens new business and production centre in Trebnje

    Trebnje, 15 October (STA) - REM, a Trebnje-based manufacturer of prefabricated construction modules, opened on Friday a new business and production centre in the local industrial zone. The project, worth more than EUR 15 million and expected to create over 50 new jobs, was supported by a EUR 2.6 million government grant.
