  • Taxes and levies up 25% in first six months year-on-year

    Ljubljana, 20 July (STA) - The Financial Administration (FURS) collected EUR 9.34 billion in taxes and other levies in the first six months of 2021, according to preliminary data, which is up 24.6% year-on-year and also 8% more than in same period in 2019.

  • Wholesale and retail sees 5.7% drop in sales in 2020

    Ljubljana, 19 July (STA) - Turnover from the sale of goods in Slovenia declined in both wholesale and retail trade in 2020. It totalled EUR 26.2 billion, down 5.7% on 2019. Due to the lower mobility of the population, fuel sales revenue fell markedly, according to the Statistics Office.

  • Slovenian travel agencies record higher demand for organised tours

    Ljubljana, 18 July (STA) - Although demand remains below last year's, travel agencies have noticed interested in organised tours as Slovenians travel more and more after stiff coronavirus restrictions have been relaxed. However, the Association of Tourist Agencies of Slovenia does not expect full recovery before mid-2025.

  • Marinas happy with occupancy rates

    Portorož/Izola, 17 July (STA) - Slovenia's largest marinas are happy with occupancy rates this summer with the one in Izola reporting a record 98% occupancy and the Portorož marina is seeing 30% higher figures than last year.
