Maribor, 26 May (STA) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a EUR 31 million loan to the electricity distributor Elektro Maribor aimed at financing maintenance and improvements in the reliability and in quality standards of electricity supply in north-eastern Slovenia.

Ljubljana, 25 May (STA) - The Covid-19 lockdown meant Slovenia recorded no tourist arrivals in April, while the number of recorded overnight stays was 11,000. This is 99% less that in April 2019 and was mostly accounted for by ongoing student exchange programmes. The lockdown for tourist facilities was in place from mid-March to 18 May.
The government in Slovenia adopted a new stimulus package to help restart the economy after the COVID-19 epidemic disruptions. Measures include tourism vouchers, subsidies for shortened working hours, facilitating investments worth EUR500m, and favourable loans for businesses.

Last week, the Slovenian government adopted a new stimulus package to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus crisis on the economy. The measures will be in place until 31 May 2020.
