Quality of life

No reward packages to employees assigned to Slovenia for negative changes to their quality of living

Slovenia’s natural beauties AND historical sights make it a prime tourist destination but its diversity makes it unique. As the relief changes, so do the climate, flora and fauna. From Ljubljana, Slovenia’s administrative, business, educational and cultural centre, capital, you can reach the ski slopes of the Julian Alps or the Adriatic beaches. There are a dozen of mineral water spas and wellness centres. The climate is made for outdoor enjoyment and recreation year round and there are many amateur and professional sports venues and events. After one of energetic pursuits you will most certainly enjoy Slovenia’s fine restaurants or treat yourself to a national dish and a glass of exquisite local wine. Slovenia’s forest ecosystem
is third largest in Europe covering 60% of its territory. The
heavily forested range of the Julian Alps rises to 2,864 m
(Mt. Triglav).

Slovenia has a vivid, living history that spans 3000 years and a culture that supports the arts, music and the theater. Year-round festivals and celebrations for people of all ages are often held against the background of rock-perched medieval castles.

From the day-to-day perspective, Slovenia is a safe place to raise your family. Expatriates can choose from international nursery schools and primary schools, as well as one secondary school in Ljubljana. In addition, expatriates will appreciate good affordable housing, strong health and education sectors and personal safety.

Ljubljana, the country’s capital and the capital of Europe during Slovenia’s Presidency of the EU, attracts visitors for the castle overlooking the cobbled streets adorned by 16th century façades, baroque churches, and fine restaurants. It is home to the central regular repertory opera, ballet and concerts and additional programmes featuring various classical and contemporary music theatre works. Slovenia boasts several professional repertoire theatres, two symphonic orchestras, as well as big band, film and theatre festivals, and other arts and cultural events.
