MURSKA SOBOTA INDUSTRIAL ZONE
Pomurje – The Region of Your Choice Town of Murska Sobota With its 20,000 inhabitants, the Municipality of Murska Sobota is the largest and most developed town in the Pomurje region. The people who visit Murska Sobota are soon convinced that they can find here all the resources a business needs to succeed. Written records of Murska Sobota go back to the 10th century and it gained a status of a town four centuries later. Its position at the meeting point of Slavic, Hungarian and Germanic cultures has led to the development of a very open society with inhabitants who know all about hard work. “For a summer or winter get-away there are the nearby spa resorts of Radenci and Moravske Toplice. And after a hard day's work and some recuperation in a spa, the best way to top things off is to relax with a few drops of the wonderful wines the locals have been producing for centuries.” Description of the industrial zone The municipality of Murska Sobota has planned the development of 500,000m² of industrial zone land to facilitate the development of local industry and attract new investors to the region. A bypass providing access to the industrial zone is planned as is a railway line extension. Construction of the zone will take place in two phases. The first phase will provide 180,000m² of land with all the necessary infrastructure; the second phase will create an additional 320,000m² of industrial zone space. The zone's location and layout has been planned to allow further extension in response to investors’ needs. Site map of Murska Sobota industrial zone In recent years the regional centre of Murska Sobota has progressed considerably due to the concentration of the region’s economic activities in the town, which offers excellent prospects for successful companies. Companies arriving in the region are offered excellent conditions for construction in the newly created industrial zone and the development friendly climate in the Enterprise incubator, which has offices in Murska Sobota, Ljutomer and Odranci. The industrial zone is easily accessible by traffic lying at the edge of the town, 2km from the planned motorway which is part of the Barcelona-Kiev Transeuropean Corridor V. The Murska Sobota railway station is 1.5km away. The motorway has already been completed up to Maribor, 70km away. There is a recreational airfield in Rakičan, 4km away, while the international airports of Maribor (55km) and Graz, Austria (70km) are also accessible. The Port of Koper, Slovenia’s major international port, is 300km away.
