Town of Lenart The Town of Lenart The town of Lenart lies in north-eastern Slovenia in the Podravje region. It is the economic, trade, administrative and cultural centre of the Slovenske Gorice area and has 11,346 inhabitants. With the area of 120.2km² it is strategically positioned at the crossroads of routes leading to the regional centre of Maribor (20km), Gornja Radgona (18km), Ptuj (20km) and Trata, a border crossing with Austria (15km). Thanks to its rich natural and cultural heritage much admired by visitors, Lenart has become one of the fastest developing business environments in north-eastern Slovenia. Efforts to further to facilitate the development of new and existing businesses are seen as essential to creating new jobs. People from the neighbouring municipalities work in Lenart, and a number of successful companies already operate in its existing industrial park. The total number of people employed within the municipality is 4,029, of which 1,858 are residents of Lenart. Description of industrial park Lenart Industrial zone The Lenart industrial park covers 300,000m², of which 270,000m² is already commissioned for use. It is located to the north-east of Lenart on the 1st category state road G I-3 (Maribor – Gornja Radgona, an important international transit route on the east-west Pan-European Transport Corridor V). Slovenia's national motorway construction programme includes a section with an exit for Lenart. There will also be a link to the industrial zone via a direct access road. The park is intended for new domestic and foreign investors and is an extension of an existing industrial park where a number of successful companies already operate. The industrial park's flat and sound land allows rapid and safe construction. The infrastructure for the newly constructed industrial park is already in place. In line with construction plans, the Lenart industrial park includes some larger plots and many smaller units of various sizes, which are set out to allow individual units to be combined according to investors' requirements.
