Municipality has an option of extending the business park from its present size onto extra agricultural land to the north and north-west, while small businesses and service enterprises already operate in the area between the park and town. In line with construction plans, the Bistrica business park includes some larger plots and many smaller 5,000m² units, which are set out to allow individual units to be combined according to investors' requirements. Site map of Bistrica industrial zone A number of new investors have been attracted to the municipality (including the companies Impol d.d., Hosekra, Bigrad, Ko-Glas), including some large and many smaller companies and small enterprises. Their investments are confirmation that the municipal authority has the right strategy for supporting the local economy. Unemployment is now down from 1994 levels (24%) to 14%, and the municipality's GDP has grown rapidly. This has all led to the acquisition of new land to expand our economic activities ... and to the creation of the Bistrica Business Park.
