JESENICE BUSINESS PARK
Town of Jesenice Jesenice has 22,000 inhabitants (11% of Gorenjska) and covers an area of 76 km² . Jesenice is a historically interesting town as the unbroken development of its steel industry has preserved a rich technical heritage; the old ironworks is perhaps the best-preserved building of its kind in Europe. Jesenice is of further interest to tourists because it borders on the Triglav National Park and is an excellent starting point for the leading tourist centres in the Gorenjska region: Bled, Bohinj and Kranjska Gora. Golf, recreational airfields, ski resorts, mountains – all are a matter of minutes away. The origins of Jesenice can be traced back to the development of ironworks along the Sava River. It was indeed the ironworks that led to the founding of the town, as they would develop into the steelworks that gave Jesenice its reputation as an industrial town and that provides an environment in which new enterprises can grow. Today Jesenice is a modern industrial town and Gorenjska is one of Slovenia’s most successful regions with well-developed industry that contributes 46% to the region's gross added value. The main sectors are electronics, telecommunications, metal processing, textiles, leather and footwear, timber and furniture production. Description of business park The Business Park covers 400,000m² of which 320,000m² are currently usable. It is located on the left side of the old steelworks. The planned expansion of the park in the next few years will provide a further 100,000m² of land. Funding from the state and the EU Phare programme has helped in the construction of a modern industrial park with the entire necessary infrastructure. Jesenice Business Park is a dedicated economic zone with all the support services you would expect, such as joint maintenance, cleaning and security. Given its excellent location and transport infrastructure it is ideally suited to companies for which logistics are a key performance factor, while its high electric energy and water capacity means companies with high energy needs can also be located in the park. Infrastructure Site map of Jesenice business park The Business Park is divided into smaller exclusive plots from 2,000m² to 5,000m² in size, which can be joined together to meet investors’ needs. Gorenjska’s industrial tradition and existing economic structure have provided the foundation for the development of numerous successful foreign investments in the region.
