29.11.2007 Investments in the Krvavec Ski Resort Krvavec, a popular high-mountain ski resort extending from an altitude of 1450-1970 m above sea level with 200,000 - 250,000 alpine skiers annually, needs further investments in:1) Parking garage 2) Construction of a ski slope from Gospince into the valley 3) Widening of the ski slope in the Kržišče – Jezerca Location Krvavec lies in the municipality of Cerklje in the Gorenjska Region. The location of the ski resort is exceptional, as it is not far away from Ljubljana (30 km from the city centre) and the Jože Pučnik International Airport (8 km from the airport). Description 1) Construction of a parking garage in the near vicinity of the endless cableway Krvavec valley station Enhancement of the parking places close to the valley station is necessary, and the only solution is a multi-storey parking garage with the following requirements: The following buildings should also be constructed: The new ski slope starts at Gospinca and follows the existing power line Zanjivec – Gospinca up to the mountain pass Davovec to an altitude of approx. 940 m. Here the ski slope splits into two directions: Water storage for the artificial snow machines is planned for the area above Velika Njiva at the altitude of 1,050 m. Basic access to Krvavec remains the same, i.e. the existing road Grad – Zanjivec, and then by the gondola cableway. The alternative solution is new access to Krvavec from the Kokra valley The cableway from Kokra would be and ideal access point for visitors from Kranj or the Gorenjska region. A new cableway would also mean new development opportunities for the area from Preddvor to Jezersko. Parking places fro visitors are planned near the future valley station of the Kokra cableway. The access road with bus turnaround and restaurant diverges from the main road Preddvor – Jezersko. 3) Ski slope widening in the area Kržišče – Jezerca The area Kržišče – Jezerca comprises the extending slope east of the existing godmnola cableway Zanjivec – Gospinca, between Jezerca and Krška Planina. Access path to the area Kržišče – Jezerca uses the existing road Grad – Stiška Vas – Ambroz, which is paved with asphalt from Ambroz to Jezerca following the way to Krvavec. When construction of the parking places takes place, auxiliary infrastructure and restaurants will also be built. New ski lifts in the area Kržišče – Jezerca: A planned ski slope on the area Kržišče – Jezerca will be arranged on the west side of the new ski lifts, between the valley station of Jezerca and the existing stations of the tow-lifts Kržišče A and Kržišče B. At the valley station the ski slope divides into a north and south slope, which join again at the south-eastern part of Jezerca and lead to the valley station Jezerca. The width of the planned ski slope is 30 to 100 m. Water storage for both ski lifts and a pump station are planned in one of the natural sinkholes between ski lifts. The new ski slope should be equipped with all the necessary infrastructure (artificial snow machines and lighting). The site is suitable for the planned waste-treatment plant, which would be used not only for waste from Jezerca but also for waste which is being treated in the worn-out box-type waste treatment plant on Kriška Planina.
