Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank Increases Profit by 73% Date: 05/08/2008 Ljubljana, 08 May (STA) - Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank, the Slovenian branch of the Austrian Hypo Group Alpe Adria, posted a net profit of EUR 11.3m for 2007, up 73% over the year before, the bank said on Thursday. Its total assets increased by 68% to EUR 1.9bn. The bank's market share was at 4.52%, which put it in the eighth place among Slovenian banks. The good results were partly the consequence of strong growth in loans. Outstanding loans totalled EUR 1.5bn, up 41% compared to 2006. Loans to retail customers grew by 47% to EUR 427.1m, of which 61.7% were long-term, mostly housing loans. The bank says it has preserved an 11% market share for housing loans last year. Loans to companies increased by 69.2% to EUR 1.1bn. |
