Krka Management Dominates Top Ten of Best Paid Managers

Ljubljana, 07 May (STA) - Members of the management of the Novo-mesto based pharma company Krka dominate the top ten list of best paid managers in 2011, published by the daily Dnevnik on Monday. Next is conglomerate Sava, holding three spots in the top ten list.

The best paid manager in 2011 was Krka CEO Jože Colarič, whose pay

topped EUR 659,000 gross. He is followed by Aleš Rotar, a member of the

Krka management, with EUR 521,000 in gross pay, and the CEO of trucks

dealer Scania Slovenija, Harald Woitke, with gross earnings of EUR

494,711.

The top ten, who together earned EUR 4m gross, is rounded

off by two other members of Krka management, Zvezdana Bajc (EUR 474,000)

and Vinko Zupančič (EUR 379,000), former Sava CEO Janez Bohorič (EUR

313,000), Probanka CEO Romana Pajenk (EUR 310,800), former members of Sava

management Vinko Perčič (EUR 292,000) and Emil Vizovišek (EUR 291,000),

and the CEO of the French-owned SKB bank, Andre-Marc Prudent (EUR

278,100).

According to Dnevnik, Colarič made it to the top of the

list this year not because of the rise in his income, which increased by

EUR 13,000 compared to 2010, but because the construction companies whose

bosses dominated the list in the past years went bust.

The 100

best-earning managers who have revealed their pay for last year together

took home EUR 21.1m in gross earnings. On average, each got EUR 17,600

gross a month.

According to Dnevnik, the figures published today will

change somewhat in the coming months, as several managers head more than

one company and sit on several supervisory boards. Meanwhile, some

companies will delay the publishing of their annual report until

autumn.

Among those who ranked high on the list in the past years but

have not revealed their pay for last year yet are Herman Rigelnik (the ACH

conglomerate), Gorazd Trček (Gorenjska banka), Roman Glaser (poultry

producer Perutnina Ptuj), Bojan Papič (furniture chain Lesnina), and Boris

Tomaž Šnuderl (Central Securities Clearing Corporation - KDD).
