Gorenje to Earmark EUR 2.3M for Dividends
Velenje, 05 July (STA) - The shareholders of household appliance maker Gorenje decided on Thursday that EUR 2.3m of the last year's distributable profit of EUR 5.5m will go for dividends at 15 cents per share.
The remaining EUR 3.1m of the profit for 2011 will stay
undistributed.
Gorenje CEO Franjo Bobinac said he was glad that the
proposals by the management and the supervisors had been backed by the
shareholders.
The management has this year decided to pay out
dividends for the first time since 2008, as Gorenje has been in the black
for the past couple of years, he noted.
Bobinac expects positive
financial effects from the moving of production in the relation
Sweden-Slovenia-Serbia. He asserted that the number of employees in
Gorenje's base in Velenje would not be decreased.
The CEO also said
that Gorenje would make the decision on the moving of production from its
Swedish subsidiary Asko to Velenje on Friday. He said he expected the
government to be equally encouraging of both domestic and foreign
investments.
The shareholders granted a discharge to the management
and the supervisory board for the 2011 business year and named KPMG as
auditor for this year.
